SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah's 10th year of its Boat and Outdoor Show took place March 3 at the International Trade and Convention Center on Hutchenson Island.
The show attracted thousands of current and would-be boat owners and outdoor enthusiasts with its extensive displays of the latest in watercraft lines, marine equipment, accessories and services.
There was live music, fishing clinics and simulations, kids' activities and a special guest at the event who played a big part in the Forrest Gump movie.
"When they got ready to do the movie a dialect coach from the paramount interviewed Darrell and I and she recorded a conversation to get a southern dialect from me for Tom Hanks to listen to study. That was the biggest part I had to do with the whole thing," said Jimbo Meador, 'the real Forrest Gump.'
WTOC was a proud sponsor of the event.
