St. Baldrick's fund-raiser set for Saturday

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Many people in Savannah are shaving their heads to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research this weekend.

In 2011, nearly 80 people came out to shave their heads on St. Baldrick's Day for the cause - from doctors, to patients, to family members of children being helped at the children's hospital at Memorial University Medical Center.

It's now the world's largest volunteer driven fund-raising program for childhood cancer research. Find out more at

This Saturday from 1-5 p.m. in City Market, there will be another head shaving event. WTOC's Mike Cihla will be emceeing again.
