It's starting to look more and more like a "Garden City," as people in the town have a new park to enjoy. Sharon Park officially opened this past weekend. Dozens of residents turned out to try out the new park's lighted walking trail for exercisers, the new fish pond, playground, and gazebo. "Just remember, this is Garden City. This is home," said Mayor Andy Quinney. "This is what small town America is all about. Come out, bring your kids, just have a good time. Everybody talks about what is wrong with America. This is what is right with America."
The land for the park was once considered surplus land by Chatham County. Now, after 35 years in the planning, it's been turned into a park by Garden City.
