There was a scaled-down version of the St. Patrick's Day parade today on Wilmington Island. More than 100 preschoolers dressed up in green and marched in the 14th annual Wilmington Island Presbyterian Preschool parade. When the parade first started, there were only 30 preschoolers marching, but it's growing every year.
"It's good for the kids and Catholic, non-Catholic, but it's all about kids, it's a family St. Patrick's Day, it's all about the family," said chairman Michael E. Beytagh.
The parade was started by former members of Savannah's Saint Patrick's Day Parade Committee. After the parade, the children were treated to a big party with lots of cake.
