Drummer dies after heart attack during parade

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - It has been confirmed that the male drummer of the Second Time Arounders marching band, who suffered from a heart attack Saturday during the parade, has died.

Roughly two blocks from the end of the parade route, the victim fell of a heart attack.

As other members of the drum line noticed the man falling to the ground, they assisted him in taking off his instrument harness.

Other spectators, including a local nurse and doctor, assisted the man by performing CPR.

Shortly after, a paramedic carrying a portable defibrillator arrived on foot to assist.

While police were clearing a path, a med-stat EMS ambulance arrived at the scene and the victim was placed on a stretcher and loaded into the EMS.

Information regarding the victims' identity and time of death has not been released.
