ELLABELL, GA (WTOC) - The Coca-Cola Kickoff Classic for the Skeadas Cup began March 24 at Black Creek Golf Club in Ellabell, G.a.
The tournaments range from Swainsboro, Savannah and Brunswick.
The top 10 golfers in each tournament earn points toward the Cup, given to the highest point earner.
The Skeadas Cup, originally named the "Fried Chicken Tour" is an amateur golf tour that started in Southeast Georgia in the late 90s by Johnny Skeadas, a member of the Georgia Hall of Fame who won more than 100 tournaments.
They changed their name after Skeadas passed away.
Each event hopes to keep Skeadas' legacy live on and decides the player of the year in his honor.
