SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - District 1 Savannah-Chatham County School Board Member Julie Wade announced on Monday morning that she'll seek re-election. Wade was elected to the board in 2010.
Wade is currently a lawyer at the Wade Law Firm. She is a member of various organizations including the Calendar Committee and Accountability Committee. She is on the Board of Directors for the ALL Foundation and on the Board of Trustees for the Historic Savannah Foundation.
She was noted by the University of Georgia as on of the Top 40 Under 40. She was also a recipient of the Savannah Magazine/Biz Next Generation Award. Wade is a native of Marietta, GA and is a graduate of the University of Georgia.
"I'm working to restore pre-k education to a full year and making sure teachers and pre-k are fully compensated, and focusing on improving middle school, which seems to be the weak point in our school system, where we lose a lot of students and provide more options," said Wade.
The Savannah-Chatham County School Board of Education will hold re-elections at 11 a.m. March 26.
