RINCON, GA (WTOC) - SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Rincon City Council is keeping police chief Mike Bohannon on administrative leave.
They met behind closed doors for hours on Wednesday night.
The city manager says they have not terminated the chief. However, he is on leave because of disagreements with council over management philosophy.
A sergeant is now in charge of the department.
"Presently a sergeant will supervise the PD. He is well qualified. We're excited about his ability to help us while we work this interim until we can replace the chief," City Manager Wesley Corbitt said.
Corbitt said an investigation led to two Rincon Police Officers resigning on Wednesday and admitting wrongdoing.
As of Wednesday night, Chief Bohannon said he hadn't heard anything from Rincon city officials.
