A Jamaican man, who had already been deported from the US once for selling drugs, is back, and in trouble again. Counter-narcotics agents arrested 37-year-old Lincoln Smith at a Cambridge Drive home in Savannah's Georgetown community Monday after a tip from postal workers.
Agents followed the postal delivery person to Smith's home with warrants to search the package. They found two bricks of marijuana in the package and discovered more inside the house and some buried in the backyard. The drugs weighed a total of 37 pounds. Agents also found loaded guns and $600 in cash.
Smith is in the Chatham County Detention Center charged with trafficking marijuana. The Immigration and Naturalization Service has placed him on a federal hold with charges pending.
