Forest "Jack" Crocker Dead at 56

A community is mourning the death of a former police sergeant, city council candidate and coach. Forest "Jack" Crocker, Jr., died Sunday of what is suspected to be a massive heart attack. Sgt. Crocker joined the Savannah Police Department in January of 1980, where he worked in the patrol division and in the criminal investigations bureau. Crocker was promoted to sergeant last year after his retirement ceremony.

He's also known by many for his years of volunteer service as a coach.

Crocker was 56 years old.

A funeral service is this morning at 10am at St. James Catholic Church, on Whitfield Avenue. Burial will follow at Greenwich cemetery.
