Okefenokee Swamp reopens

WAYCROSS, GA (WTOC) – Water trails and shelters haver reopened in the Okefenokee Swamp.

The areas were closed last summer because of huge wildfires and drought-like conditions. However, park rangers say rising water levels have allowed them to clear away burned brush and trees.

The Okefenokee refuge covers nearly four hundred thousand acres in Southeast Georgia and Northern Florida.
