HOPE Forum Scheduled

The HOPE scholarship is still a hot topic in the Georgia legislature, and one local representative wants to talk to those actually affected by recent changes, the students. A new state bill now requires that students maintain a 3.0 grade average and score a 1000 or above on their SATs to qualify for the HOPE.

Sen. Regina Thomas (D-Savannah) is holding a public forum this weekend to hear what students think of the changes. Representatives from the Georgia Department of Education and the governor's office will be there to answer questions.

If you're interested in attending the meeting, it's this Saturday from 10am to 12pm at the Coastal Georgia Center off Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard.
