Tybee tourism picks up Easter weekend

TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) – Tybee Island was full of beachgoers over the Easter weekend.

Visitors were enjoying the weather and the water, whose temperature sat around 70 degrees, which enticed many. Local businesses also enjoyed the busy weekend as well.

"I haven't been able to find parking, there's so many people on Tybee," said Patti Murphy, an employee at Tradewinds Homemade Ice Cream.

"I feel like they're all coming through here especially with the waffle cone smell, yeah it gets them every time."

Murphy says business on the island has improved since this time last year.
