Drayton Street Parker's Robbed

Savannah-Chatham police are searching for two men suspected of robbing a downtown convenience store. Police say a man walked into the Parker's store on Drayton Street about 4am this morning, pulled a gun and forced the clerks to hand over an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers were in the area and within minutes. A K-9 unit picked up a scent and they tracked the robber and another man with him all the way east on Oglethorpe and into the area of Oglethorpe and Randolph Streets. Officers surrounded the apartments and did a door-to-door search.

The dog was exhausted but continued to track until he found a gun and a jacket behind one of the apartments, along with some cash police believe may have been taken in the robbery, but the suspects are still at large.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 234-2020. A reward is offered.
