Actress Mia Farrow is performing tonight in Savannah as part of the Savannah Music Festival, which started 15 years ago and just keeps getting bigger, bringing in a lot of big names. This two week festival not only highlights many musical talents but it's an event that is gaining some popularity with some pretty famous people.
The Beaux Arts Trio is one of the latest productions for the Savannah Music Festival, an event that needed to make some major changes at the last minute. "You know I'm replacing someone, the last minute replacement, and I wanted to work with the Beaux Arts Trio," said Farrow. "They're famous and I love them and I love their music and I thought it would be an adventure."
"I think that we've got a few years to go before we can grow into a type of festival that has international acclaim, but to have people like Mia Farrow coming in as a substitute at the last minute to do a very exciting world premiere with the Beaux Arts Trio is pleasing to us," said executive director Rob Gibson.
With this festival attracting greater attention each year, more and more stars are getting involved. "I'm excited to be here, I love Beethoven, I love this trio, now I love Savannah," said Farrow. "This is a win-win-win."
With this performance being one of the many in this year's festival, it's just a small taste of the 85 other different performances that are still left to come. "That's the diversity and the eclectic nature of this Savannah Music Festival and people are hungry for it," said Gibson.
