Gateway has been serving Savannah for over 20 years, and the behavioral health service is expanding. Gateway officials held an open house today at their new building off Stephenson Avenue. The facility will house their child and adolescent programs. The building is complete with activity, therapy and quiet rooms, a library, as well as several offices.
Officials say the new building will help them better serve their clients. "Improve the overall health of our kids and make them in essence, function better, not only in schools but also in the family and community as a whole," said Frank Bonati.
The center currently helps close to 70 children. They also hope to build a playground for the kids in the near future.
