A high school senior at Savannah Country Day school has been named a 2004 STAR student for this region of Georgia. Daniel Bolta, Jr., is one of 12 in the state to receive the honor. The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition program recognizes students based on their SAT scores, grade point average and class standing.

The student also selects the teacher who helped him or her succeed. Bolta chose his German teacher, Joachim Michaels.

Bolta will now compete at the state level competition in Atlanta at the end of April. We will of course let you know how he does.
