Top Teacher--Kati Spray

Kati Spray Kati Spray

Teaching is a labor of love. That's certainly true for one Chatham County educator. Kati Spray teaches third grade at May Howard Elementary on Wilmington Island. Teaching them about triangles, Spray hopes she gives them right angles to learn.

"I hope they find an enjoyment in what they do and do something with their education," she said.

Spray has been at May Howard for four years now, and says teaching is something she always wanted to do since an early age. "I had a really great teacher when I was in the second grade, the joy of teaching when I went to college," she told us.

"She pushes us to our full potential because she knows we're very smart and can do it," said student Christine Roberts.

"She's very nice, only gives two assignments," added classmate Drew Whitlow. "She has patience for a lot of students to let them learn."

"Just the joy of them coming into the classroom," said Spray. "I also learn what they come up with you go yeah, different approaches and help them learn."

Kati Spray, this week's WTOC Top Teacher.
