Thousands of PeopleTurn out for the Annual Reidsville Easter Egg Hunt

It's known as one of the world's largest Easter egg hunts. Over one hundred and forty thousand eggs were hidden through out the Reidsville State Park in Tattnall County on Saturday. It's all part of the twenty second annual community Easter egg hunt.

Kids and adults searched on a football field and through woods, looking for the brightly colored eggs. "I looked at the back of the woods.because they hid them under the pine straw and stuff.so you could dig up under there and find some," said eleven year old Tara Carter. "I went in the bushes," proclaimed ten year old Marlisa Mills,"There was a lot of stuff sticking me, but I didn't care, I just wanted to get to the eggs."

Even the Easter bunny came out to play on this day. Thousands of people filled their bags with goodies, and enjoyed each other's company. "I enjoyed watching the young ones. I got out my wheelchair and hauled one around, and she gave me a hug," said Mary Darden.

There was no sponsor for the Easter egg hunt. All of the eggs, food, games, prizes and music was donated by people through out the community. WTOC's Dal Cannady was one of the keynote speakers for Saturday's event.
