Operation Kid Comfort

In an effort to bring a sense of comfort to kids of soldiers who are deployed overseas, marketing students at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro are working on a project to provide a quilt to give them comfort.

Operation Kid Comfort is still going strong in Bulloch County. The students produced quilts featuring photos of deployed soldiers. The students helped the Fort Bragg YMCA publicize the project and even secured equipment help from Hewlett Packard.

"With their help, we now have a website," said Ann Flaherty with YMCA Armed Services. "We have promotional material, PSAs to use. We have plans to take operation kid comfort to other bases when we're ready to do so. They did a marvelous job with those plans."
