Family Holds Memorial for Parking Lot Murder Victim

Savannah residents are still reeling after a shocking murder that happened in a grocery store parking lot yesterday. Gloria Peloquin was shot during an attempted armed robbery, and today her family is asking for your help.

Goria's husband Leo is still in shock over what happened to his wife. "They want an easy mark, they want to pick on some helpless woman by herself in a family van with 'Jesus loves you' bumper stickers on it," he said. "'Hey let's go kill her.' She was trying to get away when they shot her."

Leo Peloquin held a memorial service to show people what a wonderful woman Gloria was. "If they don't have a St. Gloria now, they're going to have one now because she deserves it, she surly deserves all this," he said.

Her three daughters, mother and more than 50 family and friends came to pray. "She's the most beautiful person I have ever known and everybody person that knows her would tell you no different," Leo said. "There isn't a person that knows Gloria that wouldn't take that bullet for her, she was that good."

And right now they want everyone's help in finding the person who took their loved one from them. "I pray to God let justice be done and the terrible evil persons that have taken such a loving mother, grandmother, wife and best friend from us," said Leo.

Anyone with any information on this crime is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 234-2020.
