Bodie is leading a dog's life. A few weeks ago, he was found, abandoned and abused. Now, he's looking for a new, loving home.
"He was found with a plastic collar embedded in his neck," explained Bodie's caretaker, Lark Robert from the Save-A-Life Pet Foundation. "It was a very, very deep, long laceration all the way around his neck. It had been like that for a long time."
Authorities believe the collar was put on him as a puppy and never taken off. Bodie needed surgery to finally remove it. Now that he's been rescued, his wounds have started to heal; however, there's still a problem. No one wants him.
Even thought he's still a little shy, Bodie is doing much better now. The Save-A-Life Pet Foundation says all he needs is a loving family and a place to call home, but finding such a place hasn't been easy for this timid dog. "It's a hard place because he is big and he's not very trusting," said Robert. "He does require an indoor home. He likes to be inside and it's hard to place big dogs like this."
While Bodie continues to heal both physically and emotionally, his temporary shelter is making sure who ever abused him is found. "Save-A-Life is still offering a $1,000.00 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person who did this," added Robert.
