Crime Task Force Members Selected

Savannah mayor Otis Johnson says he is keeping his promise to help the quality of life in the city by finding ways to reduce crime. City council and the mayor have formed a crime task force made up of different people from all over Savannah.

The nominees were submitted by city council members and announced by Mayor Johnson at today's meeting. There are forty people total.

Mayor Johnson says he is confident they will be productive in helping the community. "We have members on this task force that were recruited and members that volunteered, and I think that is important these people are enthusiastic and really want to be here, and that attitude is what is most productive to our community," he said.

The crime task force will have its first meeting at the end of this month, and they have one year to put a comprehensive study together.
