SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah-Chatham Metro Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Montgomery Cross Roads on May 18 in reference to a burglary. The victim told police that she believed the suspect broke into her house between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Some of the victim's personal items were missing and police believed they found a point of entry.
Southside detectives determined that they had enough evidence to arrest Matthew Wesley Bing, 24, for the burglary. Bing has an outstanding warrant on file. He is 5'7", 140 lbs.
Bing surrendered to Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Friday morning, according to authorities. Police say Bing provided information that has indicated the incident was not a burglary but a family situation. According to police, charges will not be filed in the case.
