The test results are in after about 100 fish were found dead in the Ogeechee River last week.
The Department of Natural Resources says all of the fish died from a bacterial infection. The DNR says the bacteria could have come from low levels in the river to spawning of different species.
They say it is not uncommon for fish to die from natural bacteria but they are continuing to take this small fish kill seriously because of the large fish kill that happened this time last year.
