SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah City Council members are being cautioned not to get too excited about the Georgia Supreme Court unanimously reversing an appeals court decision that went against the city.
"Just like Yogi Berra said, it ain't over 'til it's over," said James Blackburn, city attorney.
Construction company Batson-Cook is suing the city, saying it is responsible for the roughly $17 million it took to complete the construction of the Ellis Square parking garage. Judge William Lee originally ruled in favor of Batson-cook but the city appealed, claiming conflict of interest since the judge's nephew is associated with the construction company.
The Georgia Supreme Court has now returned the case to the superior court.
