STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - A Statesboro registered sex offender is being held without bond on charges of sexual exploitation of children.
Bulloch County sheriff's deputies, probation officers and U.S. Marshals carried out a registered sex offender compliance check on June 4 at an apartment in the 200 block of Courtney Way in Statesboro.
The compliance check was on John Dennis Baillie, 33, a sex offender who was convicted of child molestation in Gwinnett County in 2001, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.
Child pornography was discovered during a search of Baillie's computers and thumb drives, according to the sheriff's office.
Search warrants were issued for the computers and thumb drives, which were seized and turned over for forensic analysis by computer specialists.
Baillie was taken into custody and transported to the Bulloch County Jail. He's being held without bond on charges of sexual exploitation of children, sexual exploitation of children via computer and probation violation.
