Man charged with child molestation, sexual battery

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

A man accused of molesting two children faces sexual battery and child molestation charges.

Luis Juan Figueroa, 63, the father of a babysitter for a 4 year old and 8 year old, is accused of molesting two children at a home on Bird Road in Statesboro.

A report was made on June 4 with the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office. Investigators conducted forensic interviews with the children and other witnesses, according to the sheriff's office.

Figueroa was interviewed by investigators and taken into custody. He is charged with two counts of child molestation and two counts of sexual battery. He's being held at the Bulloch County Jail without bond.

Figueroa is believed to be in the U.S. illegally and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement has been notified of his arrest, according to the sheriff's office.
