RINCON, GA (WTOC) - Investigators with the Effingham County Sheriff's Office and Liberty County Sheriff's Office carried out a search warrant at 715 West Ninth St. in Rincon.
The search turned up pornographic images of children, according to the Effingham County Sheriff's Office. Justin Bowie, 22, was taken into custody after the search on charges of sexual exploitation of children.
Both sheriff's offices are members of Georgia Internet Crimes against Children Task Force. Georgia's ICAC Regional Task Force is supervised by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and is made up of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies around the state.
"It records that documentation of the pictures that are downloaded, mpegs, the movies that are downloaded. There are certain ones that are tagged and we get automatic emails about them and we can follow up with it at that point," said Effingham County Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie.
Bowie posted bond Tuesday afternoon.
