SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are asking for the public's help in finding and identifying a man who stole a car that was left running at a convenience store on Thursday night.

A white, 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was left running with the keys in the ignition at about 11 p.m. Thursday while the owner was inside at a convenience store in the 2400 block of West Bay Street.

A man in the store looked at the owner, looked at the car, then walked out, climbed in the car and drove away, according to SCMPD.

The suspect is described as a black male who's between 20 and 25 years old. He's between 5' 7" and 5' 10" and weighs 160 to 180 pounds. He had a trimmed mustache and beard. He has several tattoos on both arms and a large tattoo on the left side of his neck. He was wearing a black T-shirt and black cargo pants.
