Man shot during robbery in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK, GA (WTOC) - A man who works at the Family Grocery Store was shot after closing the shop after his shift on Sunday night.

Brunswick police said that at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, an employee of the store at 1930 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was assaulted when he tried to get into his car. He was approached by a man who brandished a gun and demanded money, according to police.

The victim told the gunman that he didn't have any money. The suspect counted to three and fired several shots at the victim's car and ran away, according to Brunswick police.

Police said the suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion and a clean-shaven head. He was wearing T-shirt over part of his face just below his eyes.

The victim was taken to the Southeast Georgia Health System for treatment. He was treated and released.
