Gas prices keep dropping

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The average retail price of gas in Savannah decreased in the past week, averaging $3.26 per gallon on Sunday, according to SavannahGasPrices.com. The national average dropped to $3.56 per gallon.

Prices on Sunday were lower than the same day a year ago and are 26.0 cents per gallon lower than just a month ago, according to the website.

"While price decreases have heated up on the West Coast, such decreases are drying up in other areas- such as the Great Lakes," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan in a statement. "While current factors still point to some falling gasoline prices in some areas, mainly the West Coast, oil prices haven't continued to shed as much value in the past week. Prices in the past few years have bottomed out in June, we could see a similar situation play out this year."
