WASHINGTON (WTOC) - Chrysler is adding more than 137,000 Jeep Liberty SUV to a safety recall.
Lower control arms in the rear suspension can rust and break, possibly causing a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.
The 2006 and 2007 models have been added to the recall, which now totals nearly 347,000 vehicles. The recall covers vehicles in 20 states and Washington DC, where salt is used to clear snow and ice from the roads.
There have been no reports of crashes or injuries from the problem. Chrysler said it will inspect the parts and replace them for free if needed, according to the agency's website.
