RIDGELAND, SC (WTOC) - Vehicles were recovered and suspects have been identified in connection with two vandalism incidents that happened over the weekend.
At about 9:45 p.m. Thursday, the Jasper County High School was filled with a fog because several fire extinguishers were used in the hallways, according to Ridgeland police. It also set off the fire alarm.
Ridgeland firefighters discovered that the Lowcountry Boys and Girls Club had also been broken into and vandalized.
Windows, doors, vending machines were destroyed or damaged and several rooms were trashed in the incident. Drinks and food from the storage room, freezers and refrigerators were thrown on the floor.
On Sunday night at about 10, the same suspects returned to the school, caused more damage and then took two vehicles from the school, according to police. Those vehicles were damaged and abandoned.
Police said the suspects in the case are juveniles and their names are being held. Charges are pending in Juvenile Court.
