BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) - Two people were arrested during the week of June 4 as part of a compliance check of registered sex offenders in Bulloch County.
Operation Southern Eagle involved 28 local, state and federation law enforcement agencies conducted a compliance check which involved physically verifying the offenders' residences, employment and compliance with registration requirements.
Of the 71 offenders that were verified, six were also on state parole and 35 were on state probation.
One person was arrested on a probation violation and Bulloch County charges of sexual exploitation of children via a computer and sexual exploitation of children. The other person was arrested on a state parole violation.
The U.S. Marshals Service, the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office, the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation COPS grant funded Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Georgia Department of Corrections, Statesboro Probation Office, Georgia State Parole and the F.B.I. conducted compliance checks of registered sex offenders in Bulloch County.
Operation Southern Eagle was the second such compliance check.
