CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - In Georgia, voters have about six more weeks before they head to the polls on July 31. Voting is held at your polling place on that day. The deadline to register as a Georgia voter is July 2.
To register use one these forms of identification: Georgia driver's license; free voter ID card issued by your county's registrar's office; any valid state or federal government-issued ID; U.S. passport; U.S. military photo ID; tribal photo ID; employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency or U.S. government entity.
Voting with an absentee ballot through the mail can be done as early as June 15. Get the online form here.
To vote early in person begins July 9. Check your voting status online at http://mvp.sos.state.ga.us/ or by contacting the Chatham County Board of Elections at 912.790.1520 or a submit a written request including: name, date of birth, address (mailing address if applicable), party preference and signature. Absentee voter applications may be mailed to: Voter Registration, P.O. Box 13757, Savannah, GA 31416 or faxed to 912.790.1519.
Early voting on Saturday is scheduled for July 21.
Voting is only held at your polling location on this day. No voting will take place at the Voter Registration Main Office.
