Summer's about here, and our lawns need water. Especially since we haven't had much rain recently. But watch out. Georgia's considering a statewide watering ban. It's part of a conservation plan:
*No watering on Fridays.
*Odd-numbered addresses could water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
*Even numbers and houses without numbers would water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The City of Savannah could adopt its own watering rules, but only if they're as strict as the state's. "In the past, when they've made these bans, we actually create a water police," explained the city's Deatre Denion. "We have people go out giving people notifications. First of all you get a warning then you could be fined."
The Board of Natural Resources will decide by the end of the month whether to bring back the ban. They lifted it more than a year ago.
