A school bus was involved in an accident on West Bay Street about 4pm today. Police remain unsure of the cause of this three-vehicle wreck, though preliminary reports indicate one of the vehicles may have run a stop sign.
The bus was carrying elementary students, who were checked out one the scene by responders, and no one on the bus was injured. Police have not confirmed what school the students go to as the investigation is still ongoing. Parents were notified to come pick them up.
The drivers from the other two vehicles involved were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, though one person driving an SUV had to be cut from the vehicle.
Traffic was backed up as authorities cleared the scene. Bay Street from Millen Street to Caroline Street were closed for over an hour.
WTOC has crews on the scene and will have more on this story tonight on THE News at 11.
