CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - The Georgia State Patrol confirmed that the headlights of a car involved in a head-on collision on Friday were on at the time of the crash.
Sgt. Robert Crapse was killed Friday morning at about 2 a.m. when Patrica Ann Collins, 23, hit Crapse's car head-on, according to Savannah-Chatham Metro Police.
In prior reports, callers had told authorities that Collins headlights were possibly off.
The Georgia State Patrol said seven 911 calls came in telling police someone was driving down Interstate 95 in the wrong direction.
Crapse's police dog, Seppe, was in the car with him, but was not injured in the wreck. Seppe is now at home with Crapse's family.
