A new face is entering the political arena. Yesterday afternoon, Gloria Edwards announced she will run for the 8th District Chatham County School Board seat. Edwards has been involved in education for the past 40 years and says that experience has prepared her well for the challenge.
"I'm working for all of the children in the community," she said. "I'm working for the people in the community and I will be working for the teachers and school personnel as well."
Jessie DeLoach currently holds the position, but is retiring at the end of his term.
