BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -

A Bulloch County sheriff's deputy Cpl. Rey Rodriguez pulled over a vehicle on May 10 at US 301 south.

The stop resulted in the deputy finding fictious Georgia driver's licenses and checks in the car driven by Bernandine Bragg, of Sylvania, according to the sheriff's office.

After an extensive investigation involving the sheriff's office, Statesboro police and the U.S. Secret Service, connecting identity theft cases made earlier this year involving Bragg's daughter Brandy Barbee, state and federal warrants were issued for Bragg's arrest, according to the sheriff's office.

On June 25, the US Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force got a tip about Bragg's location. They arrested her at a Swainsboro motel.

Bragg was taken to the Bulloch County Jail. She is charged with financial identity fraud, negotiating fictitious checks, possession of false ID documents and forgery. She also faces pending federal charges.
