The owner of Evergreen Cemetery was granted an extension in
a status hearing on Monday about the condition of the property.
Matthew Jones had been ordered to jail on June 11.
He was supposed to submit a plan to Judge Tammy Stokes for cleaning up his
property. He didn't and was ordered to spend 10 days in jail.
The city inspected was at the hearing and said progress
has been made, but it's still not up to code. Some areas of grass and weeds are
over 10 inches high.
Another status hearing is scheduled for July 9.
