SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Savannah's downtown Rotary Club has
a new president.
Savannah native Steve Stephens,
president and CEO of Stagefront Presentations Systems, took the gavel on Monday.
He pledged to begin planning and preparations for the 100th anniversary of the
Savannah Rotary, which is coming up in 2014.
Stephens, who has been a member of
downtown Rotary since 2004, said he's honored to lead the largest rotary group
in the area.
"The organization is very rich in
tradition and the membership is varied. But it really involves and includes
some of the most prestigious businesses in town and organizations," he said.
Stephens
takes over for Sam McCachern, of Thomas and Hutton Engineers, who served as
president for the last 12 months.
