SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Chatham County students may soon be able to carry cell phones at school.
WTOC first reported the story last month. Now the Savannah-Chatham Public School Board plans to vote next month on the new policy.
If approved, students would be allowed to bring cell phones, iPads and other technology to school for academic purposes.
Some parents who don't support the policy want their children to be able to reach them during school hours. Other parents said dropping the ban could lead to cheating and peer pressure.
