SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Funeral
arrangements have been scheduled for Isle of Hope and Thunderbolt Firefighter
Wesley Franklin.
Police
said Franklin was murdered early Monday morning when he tried to stop an armed
robbery outside Deb's Lounge on Norwood Avenue just off of Skidaway Road.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fox and Weeks funeral home at 7200 Hodgson Memorial Dr. in Savannah.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Isle of Hope Methodist Church at
412 Parkersburg Rd.
Interment
will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery after the funeral. A Fire Truck processional
will take place from the Isle of Hope Methodist to the cemetery.
All
fire departments that wish to participate can contact Assistant Chief Marcus
Wilson of the Isle of Hope Fire Dept. at 912.658.9288 for instructions and
coordination efforts.
All
fire personal that are going to participate are request to wear an appropriate
fire department uniform and be at the Church by 1:00pm on Friday
The chief
of the Isle of Hope Fire Dept. has requested that all uniformed personnel proceed
to the fellowship hall for participation in the funeral. He also requested that
those in uniform take part in an Honor Ally. Instructions will be provided in
the Fellowship Hall for this part of the ceremony.
