SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Faith and Freedom Coalition has awarded U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston the Friend of Freedom Award for his conservative, pro-growth voting record.
"In order to restore America's greatness, it is imperative that we have leaders who support public policy that protects the foundational building blocks of our society and limits the size of government," said Gary Marx, executive director of Faith and Freedom Coalition, in a statement. "We are proud to call Jack Kingston a friend of freedom thanks to his strong voting record in the U.S. House of Representatives."
Recipients are picked for the award based on consistent leadership on tough votes and commitment to upholding founding principles such as limited government, the sanctity of life and marriage, religious freedom and lowering citizens' tax burden.
"The principles on which our government was founded are the very principles that will renew America," said Kingston, in a statement. "We do not need to expand government, we need to check its growth and limit its interference in our lives. I am honored by Faith and Freedom Coalition's recognition and commend them for their efforts toward our shared goals."
