MCINTOSH CO., GA (WTOC) - The commander of the McIntosh County Sheriff's Office traffic unit who was injured in a car wreck had surgery on his broken hip on Wednesday morning.
Lt. Kenny Williams was on his way to work about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday when he lost control of his patrol car on Cox Highway near Heron Bridge Road.
The car went about 30 yards into a swamp before slamming into a tree.
The McIntosh County sheriff told WTOC that both of Williams' hips are broken. He said that Williams' color is better and he is responding to his wife talking to him. He has more surgeries ahead of him.
