911 calls reveal panic after firefighter was shot

Calls flooded the Chatham County 911 Center early Monday morning after Firefighter Wesley Franklin was shot at a Sandfly bar.

Most of the callers were in a state of panic as they witnessed the 21 year old fall to the ground.

"There is a guy with a gun and he just shot someone at Deb's in Sandfly," one caller said.

Another caller said the gunman stole her wallet.

"Did you see the person that shot him? Yes - he stole my wallet and shot someone," another caller said.

Police are still looking for the suspect.

Many people noticed a Facebook post Wednesday of a woman claiming to know who the shooter is.

WTOC contacted SCMPD and they say that facebook profile is fake and is not related to the investigation.

Sandfly businesses raised nearly $20,000 toward a reward that will go to anyone who has information on the shooting.

If you have information, call Crimestoppers at 912-234-2020.
