EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - Six teens have been arrested and charged in connection with a crime spree of south Effingham County neighborhoods.
Early Saturday morning, Effingham County sheriff's deputies received reports of vehicle break-ins in the Jamestown subdivision, Buckingham Plantation, and Auriga Farms neighborhoods, according to the sheriff's office.
Several items were taken from unsecure vehicles including computers, iPods, GPS devices, and credit cards. But the items have since been returned to their owners.
Four 15 year olds, a 14 year old, and Joshua Donnelly, 18, of Guyton, were charged with 12 counts of entering a motor vehicle, two counts of financial transaction card theft, and one count of burglary.
Donnelly is being held in the Effingham County Jail and the juveniles are being held in the Chatham County Youth Detention Center.
The Effingham County Sheriff's Office urges residents to lock their car doors and to keep valuables out of sight.
