TOOMBS CO., GA (WTOC) -

The names of a grandmother and granddaughter who drowned in Toombs County have been released.

Sharon Fletcher, 52, and Bailey Grace Scott, 4, died when Fletcher accidentally drove into a family pond off of Polly Lane just outside of Vidalia, according to the Toombs County sheriff.

The sheriff says it does not appear foul play is involved.

"It is a sad time for us to have to work someting like this. Our condolences go out to the family," Toombs County Sheriff Alvie Kight said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation responded along with investigators from the sheriff's office.

Friends and family members of the victims are in disbelief.

"I heard about it and I rushed right over. I am totally devastated. I used to live right next door to the family and we are like family. This is unbelievable," friend Stacey O'Neal said.
